About

For as long as I can remember I have been an artist. Somewhere in my parents' house are boxes of drawings of dragons, super heroes, and aliens I drew in grade school. When I started sculpting, I took to it like I was born for it. Again, when I was introduced to Photoshop and my first 3D programs my senior year in high school, I felt like I was home. This was what I wanted to do. After graduation I had a summer job as a Pixel Pusher (Graphic Technician) at Dynamix where I learned quite a bit about game art and the professional creative environment.

That fall, I started the Computer Animation course at The Art Institute of Seattle (AIS). While there, most of my free time was spent in the computer labs finding my way around Photoshop and 3D Studio Max. In 2000 I found out about a scholarship given by the Japanese government. Upon graduation from AIS, I was on my way to Japan with a three year full ride scholarship to study Japanese and Computer Graphics for Games. This was a great experience for me. I was able to study the video game industry in the homeland of such industry giants as Nintendo, Sega, Capcom, and Konami. I also had the chance to meet, make friends with, and learn from people from all over the world. It was an amazing time in my life that I will never forget.

Since returning from Japan, I have been refining my skills on personal projects and volunteer work, as well as learning about the newer technologies such as per-pixel lighting and normal maps. Most of my recent work is done in open source software like Blender 3d and Gimp, But I have used and still know 3DS Max, Lightwave 3D, Photoshop and others.
